the first time i saw lorna williams' work was in 2006 and i was blown away. legit. attending the sfma school in boston, she had just lost all of her work in hurricane katrina. and now she was having this show at an amazing gallery of sensational work, right on newbury street. i was inspired by this girl, and still am!
lorna's work is made of bits of different patterns, fit together like a puzzle to depict the legends of jazz and soul she is inspired by. layered on wood panels and old records, her work is so intricate, i could stare at it for hours.
